Curriculum for Excellence

Curriculum for Excellence - experiences and outcomes seminars

During March and April 2007, a series of seven seminars took place across Scotland. The focus was the learning outcomes and experiences in Science for Planet Earth.

Over 1000 participants from the 32 local education authorities and the independent sector in Scotland attended the seminars. The participants received information about the learning outcomes and experiences and considered the learning and teaching approaches which might be used in their delivery.

It is hoped that this model can be used by local authorities to produce similar exercises for Curriculum for Excellence engagement.

Creating your own discussion seminar

On the following pages we have provided four discussion activities from the Planet Earth experiences and outcomes seminars which you are welcome to adapt to create your own seminar or workshop.

We recorded the seminars as well so you can get a true flavour of the day by listening to them.
