A case study about an ambitious project called ‘Mysteries Inc’ aimed at encouraging collaborative working across schools.

These ‘snapshots’ were produced between March and June 2007. Most were written by practising teachers across three sectors. The aim of them is to give classroom teachers a clearer idea as to what Curriculum for Excellence might look like in practice.

Argyll and Bute have held Curriculum for Excellence engagement days with all primary and secondary teachers. The events enabled teachers to focus on the values, principles and purposes of Curriculum for Excellence with learning and teaching as the key priority.

In March 2005, Aberdeenshire Council embarked upon a planned programme of awareness-raising sessions on Curriculum for Excellence. As part of this work, a four-day seminar was organised by Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City and Moray Councils, with input from Learning and Teaching Scotland and Assessment is for Learning.

Aberdeenshire Council requested input into a seminar on Curriculum for Excellence for secondary headteachers from Learning and Teaching Scotland. This led to a planned approach to awareness raising involving other groups and members of the national team.
