To link with the Aberfeldy Traidcraft Group during One World Week (October), presenting an event that raises awareness in the school and community.
To promote fair trade by raising the profile of organisations like Traidcraft, People Tree, Bishopston and TearFund who, in turn, promote a fairer system of trade for producers, particularly those in developing countries who are powerless to help themselves.
To encourage a greater awareness of the real impact of buying fair trade goods and promoting local businesses that sell fair trade goods.
To encourage links and work closely with parents and the wider community.
To build pupils’ confidence and self-esteem.
To create a platform to showcase pupils’ design work from art and design courses, their musical talent, hospitality and enterprise skills.
To develop courses that raise awareness of fair trade, global citizenship and enterprise. The S2 Project and Hospitality Access Course outcomes are incorporated within the wider event of the fashion show.
