Fair trade fashion show

This year was the seventh fair trade fashion show run by Aberfeldy Traidcraft Group and the fourth run in collaboration with the Art and Design Department at Breadalbane Academy. The first fashion show took place in 1994, in the early days of the Aberfeldy Traidcraft Group.

Every One World Week in October since 1992, the group has set up and run a large fair trade shop in the town. More and more local shops, cafes and businesses sell or use fair trade goods.

It was the Aberfeldy Traidcraft Group who launched the campaign to make Aberfeldy Scotland’s first fair trade town, achieved in November 2002. They were pioneers! Now, three years later, there are 30 areas in Scotland that have achieved Fairtrade status or are working towards it. They include Perth and Kinross, the first fair trade county in Scotland.
